What To Do With Rubber Bands?

Like many people who coupon I get lots of Sunday papers (OK so I get seven. I know it's crazy but it is so great to have that many coupons). I also get a daily paper delivered. Well there is one thing that always seems to come with a paper, no not the coupons, but a rubber band.

There are so many things that you can do with a rubber band. I have been on this kick of trying to be less wasteful so I decided to make some use out of all those rubber bands instead of throwing them away. We are making a rubber band ball. My family is obsessed with bouncy balls. My kids went to their grandpa's house in January and they have bouncy balls for their cats. And their love of them began. Well I thought it was a cool idea to have them make a ball out of rubber bands so, every morning we add another one to it. Here's how big it is now:

Side note: If you decide to make a rubber band ball with your family don't, I repeat, don't let the kids bounce it in the house. My son tried and it almost hit the ceiling in the kitchen and nearly missed the chandelear. I had no idea it would bounce like that. Testing it out may be better left as an outside activity.

I found this funny You Tube video about different ways to use a rubber band here. Not so much informative as silly.

Does anyone else have a creative way to use rubber bands? I'd love to hear.
