Where Have I Been?

If you have been following my blog you may be asking where have I been for over a week?

Well I have had one of the hardest weeks in my life. My mother passed away and I have been planning her funeral. We knew that she had been sick but it was still a shock to have her go so quickly. I am planning on sharing more of this past weeks journey when I am ready to.

Now the funeral is over and all my family has gone home. I have been debating if I want to continue doing this blog or not. I have been going back and forth for the past several days and decided that I love doing this and will be back.

The question now is when. Although it won't be as much right away I think that I will have new posts starting next Monday. My plan is to take things slow for now and get things back to a normal routine.

My Favorite Disney Movie and A Sweet Deal

I just love Beauty and The Beast. It is hands down my favorite princess movie. I don't know why but it just always has been. Soda Catalina When You Buy Chex Mix

I stopped by Albertson's this morning to use my doublers and another shopper told me about a sweet deal on soda when you buy Chex Mix. Buy 3 Chex Mix and get a Catalina for Free 12 pack of soda up to $3.00. I did mine in sets of four Chex mix (it worked better that way with my coupons) and it printed out just fine. I also did a transaction with 10 Chex Mix and 3 catalinas printed out. I can't confirm that it is in fact 3 you must buy but it seems to follow what I have heard.

The catalina expires on 9/27 so I am hoping for a great deal on Coke 12 packs in the next couple of weeks. (Coke at my store was $4.50 and I would love to be able to get it for free with the Catalina).

Albertson's Catalina Update

It seems that the Green Giant Vegetables catalina is not printing at Albertson's . I went this morning and bought both the boxes with sauce and the steamers and nothing. I am unsure on if it is a real catalina deal or not. I was told by the manager that a lady had a catalina that advertised it and was going to call Catalina. So I guess we will have to wait and see.

On a brighter note the catalina for Pillsbury is printing fine. I bought 6 Grands Biscuits and got a $3.00 catalina.

I will keep everyone posted on whether or not the Green Giant catalina will ever be printing.

I also heard rumors that there will be doubles on Sunday. For those of you in the Boise area though I am unsure if it is going to be a coupon round up or not. I am hoping for doubles.

I've Been Sick!

On Monday night I woke up really really sick. I had been suffering for a headache for several days and it got so bad that I was sick to my stomach. Needless to say yesterday I was completely immobilized by the headache. When I went to the doctor this morning I found out that it was a really bad migraine. I get headaches a lot but seriously this was the worst one that I have ever had. Well the doctor prescribed some fast acting medicine. I could not believe how well it worked. Within an hour of taking it I was feeling so much better and by this afternoon I feel great. (A little off from the medicine but no horrible pain.)

Well I just thought I would mention just how exspensive medicine is. With our insurance it cost around $22.00 but if we hadn't had insurance it would have cost us $197.00. And that was only for nine pills! How crazy is that! Thats over twenty bucks a pill. I had to take two pills today so if I hadn't had insurance with a good perscription plan I would have just spent my weekly grocery budget on two pills. It is such a racket. How do people afford to pay for medicines they need if they don't have insurance.
Because of the rising cost of health care my husband and I have put a really high priority on always having decent health insurance. In fact when my husband first got out of law school he had a job with really high insurance prices for me. We decided that it was too risky to not pay the higher premiums than to not have health insurance for me. Although it was a higher amount every month for the premiums we were not left with high health care bills we would have had without it. Now my husbands job has really good health insurance with low premiums. We are really grateful for that. But even if we didn't have it we would still pay more each month because you just never know what could happen.
