Cheap Turkey Bacon At Winco

Did you get the free Oscar Meyer Turkey Bacon coupon from Kraft First Taste awhile ago?
If you did then you also got a $1.50/1 coupon with it.
Well right now at Winco they have Oscar Meyer Turkey Bacon for only $1.78.
After using the $1.50/1 coupon you'll only pay $.28.
What a great price for bacon!

Free Taco Bell Refried Beans

There is a great new coupon from coupons.com for $1.00/2 Taco Bell Home Originals products.
This is a really high value coupon which should make for some cheap or free re-fried beans.

At Winco Taco Bell Re-fried beans are only $.48 so they will be free after the $1.00/2 coupon.

Precious Cheese Rebate

Have you ever been in the store with your kids and they throw a great big tantrum?
You know they yell and scream for something and everyone is looking at you?

Well that was me at Winco yesterday.
My daughter had to have cheese sticks and she wouldn't take no for an answer.
I know that "according to the experts" I am supposed to leave the store and not let her behave that way. Well that is nice in theory but we really needed everything in our cart and I am not going to be able to make it to the store again this week.

So I did the unthinkable and gave in.
As I was searching for which kind of cheese stick that I was going to buy I stumbled upon this rebate for $5.00 when you buy 2 Precious Cheese sticks packages.
I couldn't find the smaller size so I went ahead and bought two of the 24 pack for 5.68 each (each had a rebate form on it).
My daughter was happy and I got out of there as quickly as I could.

When I got home and filled out the rebate form I realized that it is good for two of the 12 oz. size or larger and that there is a limit of 5 rebates per household.
I am excited to see if I can get some of the smaller size packages on sale.
So possibly with the other rebate form, I'll be able to get some free cheese.

If your at Winco look for the rebates, see if you can't snag yourself some packages of cheap cheese.

Update: The price of string cheese at Costco is about $12.00 for 60 cheese sticks or $.20 a piece.
Buying them with the rebate comes to $.13 a piece.
That's a great savings!

Quick Winco and Albertson's Trip

As I have briefly mentioned before my mom has dimentia and is currently at a hospital to have her medication evaluated. Well I have to drive into town (we live in a city outside of boise) and go to a meeting every week. So yesterday I had such a meeting and decided to stop and get a few things we needed at the store. Above are the pictures of what I got and below are the details.

Winco

Jimmy Dean Heat and Serve Sausage 1.38
used 1.00/1 from 4/11 RP

Land of Frost Ham Lunch Meat 2.02
used 2- .60/1 coupons found on product

Tomatoes on the vine .98 lb

Pears .78 lb

I also got eggs, celery, sour cream, stirfry and seasoning, and 20lbs of flour without coupons.

I paid 16.56 for everything.

I then stopped at Albertson's and bought a head of lettuce and a diet Pepsi ( I felt that I deserved a treat after such a stressful meeting). I used a 2.00 cat I had from a previous transaction and paid .74 for both.

It wasn't the best coupon trip ever, but I needed a few staples. I think that Winco has the best deals for things I don't have a coupon for .

Where's the Beef : Recalled

I was watching the northwest news channel tonight and saw that Winco had recalled ground beef that they sold in styrofoam containers between March 28 and April 9 because the meat may have ecoli. The recall includes several states and of course Idaho is one of them.

Having thought that I bought some meat from Winco and frozen it around the same time as the recalled meat, I ran to my freezer to see what date it was marked. Yea you guessed it, right in the middle of the recalled dates on April 5. So what to do with the meat. I have never actually had the recalled food that they mention on TV. I then called my local Winco and talked to them about it. They told me to bring in the meat. I said but I don't have a receipt. They said not to worry they'll give me a full refund.

I'll be off to Winco in the morning. One more thing to do this week. One more thing to do tomarrow. Didn't Winco realize that I'm a busy mom with a million things to do? Really, someone should have realized that when they were tainting the meat with ecoli.

There is more information here at the Winco site about the recall but I found it more helpful just to google it.
